Twenty two guys and girls from Plumbs Furniture Covers successfully completed the National Three Peaks Challenge on 24th and 25th of May.  They raised over £12,500 for projects in Kenya supported by the Three Hills Action Trust (THAT).

What a fantastic achievement!

The Three Peaks Challenge involves climbing the three highest peaks in England, Wales and Scotland, within 24 hours. The three peaks are:  Snowdon, in Wales (3,560ft); Scafell Pike, in England (3,200ft); Ben Nevis, in Scotland (4,409 ft). That is a climb of over 10,000ft, a 25 mile walk and 450 miles of driving.

Marian Ewen, THAT’s Treasurer said:

“It was great to see them all off at Snowdon on the last leg of the challenge.  They spilled off the bus, kitted up and with no ado went straight off up the mountain.

“A couple of special mentions are needed here.  Steve Rowlett climbed up Snowdon and then ran back down in just under two hours.  Also Archie Duff – just 14 years old – managed to do Snowdon in two hours 10 minutes.

“There were lots of sore feet and hundreds of blisters.  Well done to everybody – thank you all so much.
